300 CUM Biogas plant (Venco Research)-2 in Dehradun
A 5kW residential solar solution installed for Rekha Pathak in Ghaziabad to power a sustainable home.
300 CUM Biogas plant (Venco Research)-2 in Dehradun
Venco Research and Breeding Farms, located in Dehradun, faced a critical challenge in managing poultry waste generated from approximately 30,000 birds. A large volume of poultry litter was produced daily, raising environmental concerns and increasing operational costs. Increased carbon emissions, along with high electricity and fuel costs, further burdened the economy.
To address these issues, a Commercial Biogas Plant of 300 CUM capacity was adopted. The system was implemented to convert poultry waste into clean energy and organic manure. Through this sustainable solution, waste was efficiently managed, and valuable resources were recovered.

This video showcases the complete working, installation process, and performance insights of the 300 Cum Biogas Plant at Venco Research, Dehradun, highlighting sustainable energy solutions and the real-world impact of efficient biogas technology.
Objectives
The objectives for Venco focused on driving sustainability, efficiency, and cost reduction through a Commercial Biogas Plant.
01.
To establish an effective system for poultry waste management
02.
To reduce dependency on conventional electricity and fuel sources
03.
To lower carbon emissions and environmental impact
04.
To generate value added by products like organic manure
Challenges
Key issues in waste management and energy dependency
Excess Poultry Litter
Large-scale poultry production from 40,000 birds generated continuous waste, making disposal difficult and inefficient.
Environmental Pollution
Improper handling of poultry waste was increasing carbon emissions and negatively affecting the surrounding environment.
High Energy Consumption
The farm relied heavily on external electricity and fuel, resulting in high operational costs.
Impact
The after impacts benefit from adopting a Commercial Biogas Plant
Efficient Waste Management
Poultry waste is now handled and managed properly through the Commercial Biogas Plant.
Partial Energy Independence
The farm now generates its own electricity, reducing its dependency on the main grid.
Organic Manure Production
The leftover biogas is used as an organic fertiliser for crop production.
Reduced Carbon Emissions
The pollution and carbon emissions are reduced through the use of a commercial biogas plant.
