1,600 CUM Biogas Plant, RSWK in Jharkhand
A 5kW residential solar solution installed for Rekha Pathak in Ghaziabad to power a sustainable home.
Dayoday Shri Vidyasagar Gaushala, supported by the Madhya Pradesh Government under the GOBARdhan Scheme, implemented an innovative waste-to-energy model across multiple gaushala locations. With Madhya Pradesh being one of the leading states in cattle population and home to numerous gaushalas, managing large volumes of cattle dung and ensuring reliable power supply in remote areas posed significant challenges.
In collaboration with Koshish Sustainable Solutions Pvt Ltd, four 85 CUM biogas plants were installed, each integrated with a 15 kWh biogas genset. The system generates around 100 units of electricity daily while also supplying biogas for cooking and supporting community needs such as Anganwadi kitchens. Additionally, slurry is processed into PROM (Phosphate-Rich Organic Manure), creating an additional revenue stream.
Turning Waste into Power: A Real Gaushala Transformation
Watch how the 85 CUM biogas plant at Dayoday Shri Vidyasagar Gaushala converts organic waste into clean energy. This project highlights sustainable innovation, cost savings, and eco-friendly gaushala management in action.
Enabling sustainable waste utilisation and reliable energy generation for gaushala operations.
01.
To manage large volumes of cattle dung efficiently.
02.
To generate renewable electricity for uninterrupted operations.
03.
To reduce dependency on conventional fuels and external power sources.
04.
To create value-added by-products for additional income generation.
Addressing waste management complexities, energy shortages, and operational constraints in remote gaushalas.
A large cattle population led to continuous accumulation of dung requiring efficient handling.
Many gaushalas faced frequent power cuts due to their remote locations.
Untapped potential of cattle waste resulted in missed opportunities for energy and revenue.
Delivering energy security, improved waste utilisation, and new revenue opportunities.
Each plant generates around 100 units of electricity daily, ensuring uninterrupted operations.
Biogas is used in gaushala kitchens and extended to nearby Anganwadi facilities.
Slurry is converted into PROM and sold as a valuable organic fertilizer.
Integration of waste-to-energy systems promotes self-sufficiency and circular economy practices.
